Raymond Moore Memorial Scholarship
The Raymond Moore Memorial Scholarship is an endowed scholarship for Texas Junior Angus Association members and is awarded at the TJAA State Show to the Supreme Grand Champion and the Reserve Supreme Grand Champion.
Recipients must be a TJAA members for one full year prior to winning the award, unless it is the TJAA member’s first year of membership. And Parents must be members of the Texas Angus Association for one full year prior to the junior winning to award to be eligible. Both junior and parent must also be up-to-date on their dues for the current year prior to the state show.
If the junior who wins Grand or Reserve is not eligible for the scholarship then the next highest placing junior will receive the scholarship.
Supreme Grand : $5,000
Reserve Supreme: $2,500

Texas Angus Auxiliary Scholarship
Deadline: application must be postmarked by April 1, 2025
The Texas Angus Auxiliary Scholarship is awarded to one boy and one girl each year at the state show. The winning applications will be forwarded on to compete in the American Angus Auxiliary Scholarship.
Criteria:
-Graduating High School Senior
-Received both the bronze and silver award prior to applying
-Parent must be a member of the Texas Angus Auxiliary for two years prior to applying
An original printed copy of the completed application must be mailed to: Moriah Pohlman at 1855 FM 1058 Hereford, TX 79045 , AND an electronic copy of the completed application must be emailed to m_pohlman@hotmail.com with the subject “TAAux Scholarship Application”
The application is the same application for the American Angus Auxiliary Scholarship.

Murl Richardson Scholarship
Deadline: application must be postmarked or emailed by April 1, 2025
The Murl Richardson scholarship is an endowed scholarship for Angus juniors who are graduating high school or in their first three years at college. This scholarship is in honor of Murl Richardson a long-time supporter of Texas Angus Juniors.
Junior must be a member of the TJAA one year prior to applying. Parents must be members of the Texas Angus Association for one year prior to the recipient winning to be eligible. Parent and junior must also be up-to-date on their dues for application year.
Two recipients will be presented scholarships of $1,500 each. They are eligible to apply again after receiving the scholarship. Scholarship will be paid out in two semesters.

This scholarship required three letters and forms of recommendation. The same deadline and methods of sending applies to those letters.

Doug Kuykendall Scholarship
Awarded through the American Angus Foundation
Application deadline: May 1, 2025
The late Doug Kuykendall’s legacy is being carried on through the Doug Kuykendall Scholarship Endowment Fund, established through his loving family and the Texas Junior Angus Association. Doug and his brother Sid started the Star K Cattle Company and were very successful in the show barn and active in the local community. Doug enjoyed a 40-year career at University of Texas Arlington, as Assistant Director of Intramural Sports and Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs. Doug was very passionate about doing the right thing, being charitable, and helping the underrepresented. Selection criteria for the Doug Kuykendall Scholarship includes first preferences to Angus youth in Texas, followed by New Mexico and Oklahoma.
